The cigars’ history to be known, not
to forget:
The cigar
has come down a long way and has its own history. There are a lot of trivia and
also some interesting facts. It can however, be easy to give into the aroma and
taste of the cigar, to relish the richness and luxury of it that many remain
oblivion to the tales and legends about these very cigars. But these are really
interesting facts and it is a pity that even a lot of the cigar connoisseurs
are now aware of these. It is really not good to miss out all these legends
which together form parts of the cigar’s culture for then surely you are
missing out its extravagance and the past should never be forgotten. Therefore,
it is good if you take a moment from your schedule and then use it for enjoying
these small things about cigars and not let them get vanished from your reach
like a puff.
Who were the first to be the
connoisseurs?
Christopher
Columbus can be very much among the first name to be taken. There’s more than
just giving the great man the credit of discovering America. But mind it
people, among the first names but not exactly the first name. He is definitely
not the cigar inventor if you are looking for it. There are more names to be
taken if you are asking who started with the smoking of tobacco. Well, it can
be the Caribbean Islands inhabitants who started it and also the ones in
Mesoamerica and it goes as old as 900 A.D., as suggested by the archeologists.
You may find these from the sites but rarely from the Cigare Lounge Bruxelles. There is
yet another discovery of a ceramic vessel which was hidden in a Mayan ruin of
building in Guatemala which was decorated with a man smoking cigar. Sadly, the man
is deceased definitely and cannot hence give the answer to this.
The cigar band being invented:
To
the ones who don’t smoke, the cigar band can very much be like musicians’ group
who are together to make songs about smoking and in a basement with the best
lyrics. But the fact is that cigar band is an important part of cigar and it
has its own history and a lot to know of. This band or ring rather it can be
called, is a piece of paper that is circular and is wrapped around a lot of
cigar heads. It must have been invented by Catherine the Great or the Spanish
nobles somewhere between the late 1700s to the early 1800s. The nobles though
fond of cigars, weren’t actually fond of the stains that it left on their
gloves and hence the band. You can see it in almost every cigar brand in Cigar Lounge Brussels. The bands can very much prevent the cigars from staining.
It can also be that it was to keep the wrapper bound to the filler and thus
keeping the cigar together. There are a lot of other tales and legends which of
course, you can get to know with more research.
